Discover Thun Castle
Let yourself be whisked back to the Middle Ages. Thun would be unrecognizable without its landmark castle overlooking the old town. This privileged location has been the site of the fortification since medieval times, and is now called the “Schlossberg”, or Castle Hill. The foundations for the castle were laid towards the end of the 12th century. Since then the complex has changed hands and purpose several times. Besides being occupied by local authorities and as a residential building, the castle was also the seat of the Bernese Oberland regional court until 2009. Today the castle houses a museum and restaurant. The views from here of Lake Thun and the surrounding Alps are stunning and unique. On a clear day, you can even see the iconic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau trio of peaks.
You and your seminar participants will enjoy the change of scenery and pace. Whether you are organizing a guided museum tour or an aperitif within the grandeur of its ancient walls – Thun Castle offers an unbeatable atmosphere for your event.
